About Camp Can Do
A place where children facing cancer can simply be kids.
Camp Can Do is a Pennsylvania camp for children ages 8-17 who have been diagnosed with cancer and their siblings. Families attend at no cost, with volunteer doctors and nurses available around the clock so campers can safely enjoy camp and simply be kids.
Bonnie Rose attended Camp Can Do during her cancer treatment. She wanted the chance to feel like a normal child again, and the camp gave her that gift.
Her experience there had a profound impact on our family, which is why Purple Wishing Gate continues to support Camp Can Do in Bonnie's memory.
Purple Wishing Gate donates 10% of every order to Camp Can Do.
Our Inspiration
The Story of Bonnie Rose
The dream that inspired Purple Wishing Gate
The beloved inspiration behind Purple Wishing Gate
After Barbara D. MacAdam's 12-year-old daughter, Bonnie Rose, passed away from cancer, Purple Wishing Gate came to Barbara in a dream.
In the dream, Barbara saw Bonnie standing behind a beautiful purple gate in what appeared to be a heavenly garden. Purple had always been Bonnie's favorite color, which made the gate seem especially fitting.
Barbara watched as Bonnie greeted people who came to the gate, but Bonnie wouldn't let them through. Instead, she listened to their wishes, wrote them on little pieces of paper, and then hurried away to give those wishes to God.
Bonnie was very busy, very happy, and very important in her new place in Heaven, helping people turn to God for what they needed.
Where wishes made are turned to prayer,
so God can keep them in His care!
In Bonnie's loving memory, giving back to children affected by cancer became part of the heart of Purple Wishing Gate.
That promise continues today: Purple Wishing Gate donates 10% of every order to Camp Can Do for Kids with Cancer. Every purchase helps us continue Bonnie's legacy while sharing a blessing with someone you love.
Thank you for allowing your order to be part of that mission.
